Chinese sculptors are minorities in China's art scene. In the past few decades, large-scale monumental sculptures were made basically only for display at public space and government properties. In recent years, with the rapid development of real estate and tourism projects, such as theme parks, hotels and resorts, the population of Chinese sculptor is mushrooming.
     Sculpture department of prestigious universities and art schools are training young sculptors to meet market need. In a way, the new generation of talented Chinese sculptor is more than just an artist. They are fulfilling specific demand from local and overseas clients, to create sculptures, large or small for commercial applications.
     The rise of living standard as well as the burgeoning property market in China in recent years has created a direct impact on the demand of all kinds of artifact. Sculpture as a work of art has become a vital element to boost the status of a high class real estate development.
