Long was born in 1989 in Shaoyang, Hunan province. He began to paint when he was a child. He received formal painting training in high school which paved the way for Long to become a professional artist.

     Long studied at the Oil Painting Department of Hunan University of Technology and was graduated in 2013 with honor. During his study at the university, Long had participated in major art competitions and his paintings had collected more than 10 awards. Many of Long’s painting were acquired by private collectors and organizations in China.

     In 2014, he continued his study at the Yunnan Art Academy and at the time of writing (April 2016) Long was still doing his research study on oil painting at the academy.
