Xu was born in Beijing in 1961. He is a native of Wuxi in Jiangsu province.
     Jiangsu has a long tradition of glooming poets and artists dated back to the Tang Dynasty (618 AD - 907 AD) which reached its peak in terms of ancient poetry and artistry.
     Xu began learning art when he was a child and had followed the footsteps of many great masters of the time. He is specialized in Chinese paintings, ink wash and water color. He has great interest in painting flowers, birds, hills and rivers which are popular themes in traditional Chinese paintings.
     For Xu, his works of art always have more to offer and it is not difficult that people could recognize his contemporary style of ink and water painting skill.
     "There is only the beginning and with no end for art and painting. I am still learning everyday. This is one of the most facinating things in life - art creation," said Xu.
